Funding
Synod Funds
- generally up to £1,000 is available, although the amount is not fixed
- to assist suitable church people to visit a church (being a member of CWM) to participate in a CWM youth workshop or similar projects
- to assist a minister in training to spend part of an internship year in another country to learn from and experience work of a member church and how it is involved in the mission
- to enable a church leader or church worker from a member church of CWM to spend a sabbatical period in Wales
- note the ways in which the ecumenical relationships of the URC in Wales involve it in projects or exchanges of personnel in and with churches of countries not currently in partnership with CWM

- up to £40,000 is available as a main grant
- a development grant of up to £10,000 is available to assist with the formulation of a project with professional support (any development grant will be deducted from the eventual grant awarded)
- up to £50,000 is available as a repayable grant for projects over £150,000, where bridging funding is required
- every application must demonstrate that it satisfies at least one of five mission criteria listed in The National Synod of Wales and Our Part in God’s Mission
- no application will be accepted from any church that has not submitted a Gift Aid claim to HMRC in the preceding twelve months

URC Funds
- up to £25,000 is available
- promotes projects for Mission Development, using the Vision2020 statements as a starting point which involves the adaptation, extension or purchase of buildings
- it will not fund solely routine building maintenance or repairs
- it can be used as a match funding/enabling resource to provide access to wider fundraising and, in particular, match-funding

- awards are available for innovative community projects taking place in URC-connected churches
- awards are made biannually in partnership with Congregational
- in 2020, projects were awarded up to £2,000

- for courses, workshops and resources to help deepen the spiritual journey

- £5,000 per award per year is available
- for any purpose that will contribute to the Discipleship Development of lay people in or connected with the URC including personnel costs, facilities, travel, courses etc.
- multi-year projects can be supported for up to three years and a tapered approach to funding is encouraged.
- any recognised group can apply, but if the group applying is not an Assembly Committee or a Synod, it will need to gain approval for its application from their Assembly Committee or Synod

- funding for imaginative and innovative projects which may struggle to secure financial support from alternative sources
- available to support short term projects (normally not more than three years) or one off events, and projects may include a salary element

- provides advice, information, grants and loans for projects undertaken by charities and not-for-private profit organisations
- grants are available up to £15,000, with a special legacy fund available for projects in Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy

- seeks to build communities, help people, and grow churches
- grants normally fund capital projects and equipment, not salaries or running costs

- normally for capital projects involving building work e.g. repairs, improvements or extensions

- the Hilden Charitable Fund hold a small budget to support social justice and tackle disadvantage in the UK and overseas.

- grants cover the VAT incurred in making repairs to listed buildings in use as places of worship
- the scheme covers repairs to the fabric of the building, along with associated professional fees, plus repairs to turret clocks, pews, bells and pipe organs
- regular claims should be made throughout the life of the project and payments will be made once per week
- the Scheme will only accepts claims where invoices are submitted within 12 months of the invoice date

- the Morris Fund supports smaller programmes of work concerned with the conservation of decorative or non-structural features inside a building, such as stained glass windows, furniture, internal monuments and tombs
