A world of teenage mothers, unexpected pregnancies, occupying forces and terrorist attacks.
A world where the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer.
A world where people are on the move, picked up and transported by government decree.
A world where rulers want to be adored, not criticised.
A world where, despite all the dominance of death, new life comes in surprising places.
This is our world.
A world where, despite all we call progress, we are not far removed from first century Palestine.
We wait for you this Advent, Lord Jesus, as they waited then.
Come, Lord Jesus, and transform your world.
