Wherever you are on your Eco Church journey, please come along for a day of reflection, creativity, information and practical support.
The Eco Church award scheme is designed to help churches express and demonstrate their care for God’s world.
Our Roadshow will be an opportunity to meet together to consider how we might take action as churches and individuals. We will share in worship and reflection; take a look at the Eco Church survey; plan our next steps and share in creative responses and activities. There will also be a Q&A session and practical help with registering your church as an Eco Church.
There is the potential for creation care and a response to the Eco Church initiative in every corner of church life. Ministers, Elders, Junior Church leaders, those involved with finance, buildings and church land are all warmly invited and encouraged to attend our Roadshow activities. The days are not designed merely for those interested in the ‘green’ agenda – everyone will be very welcome.
Revd. Jason Askew, Judy Harris and Eileen Newington (Synod Green Advocate) will lead the activities. Claire Boot and Chris Atherton will also participate and will be available for some Q&A sessions.
The Roadshow will run between September 2024 and March 2026 and will visit each region within the Synod of Wales. It will be held in churches near to train stations and we will endeavour to go to places which are central and convenient.
We hope the Roadshow will encourage a sharing of ideas and experiences and provide an opportunity for churches at different stages of the Eco Church journey to connect and collaborate as we seek to care for creation together across the Synod.
