More than twenty people gathered at Keyston URC in Pembrokeshire on 12 May for a Community Consultation exploring exciting future plans for the chapel building.
Local residents were invited to hear more about proposals to improve and develop the space, as well as share their thoughts and feedback on the plans.
Revd Ruth Whitehead presented the vision for transforming the chapel into a more flexible, accessible, and comfortable space that can better serve both worship and community activities. The proposed improvements aim to help the building continue its important role at the heart of village life.
Also attending the consultation was Mark Vines from Acanthus Holden architects, who was available to answer questions and discuss the practical aspects of the proposed development.
Keyston URC holds a unique place within the community as the village’s only community space. Alongside worship, the chapel regularly hosts local groups, activities, and events, making it an important hub for residents.
The evening ended with a real sense of enthusiasm and encouragement, with many expressing excitement about the possibilities the plans could bring for both the church and the wider community.
The consultation marked an important step forward in shaping a welcoming and sustainable future for Keyston URC and its role within the village.
