World Council of Reformed Churches Visit to Wales

Delegates from the World Council of Reformed Churches visited Wales on the weekend of the 21st March 2026.

David Salsbury writes:

The Steering Committee of the European Region of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC) recently visited Cardiff for a Solidarity Visit with WCRC member churches in Wales, learning more about the ecumenical and political contexts of Wales and soaking up some of the Welsh culture and hospitality. Members of the steering committee travelled from Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany AND north-east England for the trip which included visits to the National Museum at St Fagan’s and Cardiff Bay, as well as sharing in Palm Sunday worship at City URC and Eglwys y Crwys PCW.

Here, pictured with members of the steering committee, are representatives from Cytûn, the Welsh Senedd, the Union of Welsh Independents and the URC gathered at the URC Wales Synod Office in Cardiff.   The World Communion of Reformed Churches has three member denominations in Wales: The Union of Welsh Independents (Undeb yr Annibynwyr Cymraeg), The Presbyterian Church of Wales (Eglwys Bresbyteraidd Cymru), and the United Reformed Church – National Synod of Wales (Eglwys Ddiwygiedig Unedig – Synod Cenedlaethol Cymru).
