Beibl 1620

Mae eleni yn bedwar can mlwyddiant cyhoeddi Beibl 1620 sef y Beibl yr ydym i gyd wedi ei ddefnyddio yn gyson dros y canrifoedd. Ar ôl cyhoeddi Beibl William Morgan yn 1588, fe fu i Esgob Richard Parry a Dr John Davies, Mallwyd, ddiwygio’r cyfieithiad. Y Beibl hwnnw nid y Beibl William Morgan gwreiddiol buom yn ei ddefnyddio hyd nes cael y Beibl Cymraeg Newydd yn 1988. Mae llawer o ddigwyddiadau am gael eu trefnu yn ystod y flwyddyn i ddathlu’r pen-blwydd arbennig yma.

Mae croeso i bawb ddod i Oedfa Ddathlu yng Nghapel Tabernacl, Yr Ais, Caerdydd, CF10 1AJ am 7yh ar y 5ed Fawrth, 2020.

Mi fydd yr Oedfa yn dathlu cyfraniad y Beibl i fywyd Cristnogol Cymru yn ogystal â’i chyfraniad i’r iaith Gymraeg a diwylliant Cymru.

This year is the four-hundredth anniversary of the publication of the 1620 Bible, which is the Welsh Bible that we have all used consistently over the centuries. Following the publication of William Morgan’s Bible in 1588, Bishop Richard Parry and Dr John Davies, Mallwyd, revised the translation. That Bible, and not the original William Morgan Bible, is the one widely used until the New Welsh Bible was published in 1988. Many events are scheduled to be organised during the year to celebrate this special anniversary.

All are welcome to attend a Service of Celebration (in Welsh) at Capel Tabernacle, the Hays, Cardiff, CF10 1AJ at 7pm on 5th March, 2020.

The Service will celebrate the contribution of the Bible to the Christian life of Wales as well as its contribution to the Welsh language and culture.
