Helen Moohan will shortly be retiring after working for the Synod for 25 years. Her first role was welcoming people and making coffees and she went on to administrative roles and to serve as Personal Assistant to three Moderators. Office Manager was added to the PA role fourteen years ago and Helen was great at maintaining office morale. Last year she was seconded to be Synod Clerk and we are indebted to Helen for being willing to help the Synod during a time of rapid change, when she has helped to build the Synod Support Team.
Helen also made significant contributions to Synod life through participating in the development the ‘Good Grief’ bereavement care training and in supporting lay preachers. Many of you will know her from her tireless support of local churches, her kind words at Synod Meetings and her fervent love of knitting. We know you will all join us in wishing her well as she prepares for retirement.
We are delighted to announce that, from September 1, Megan Price will take on the responsibilities of being Synod Clerk and Helen will help with the hand-over. Joel Sainsbury will be our new Office Manager and PA to the Moderator. Both Megan and Joel joined the Synod Support Team last year and have greatly enriched the Synod with their skills, experience and enthusiasm. We look forward to welcoming them into their new roles. We will be reformulating the Administrator role for recruitment later in the year.
