Inter Cultural Celebration Weekend

You are cordially invited to participate in a weekend of events celebrating the vibrancy and diversity of cultures in Wales today, proclaiming with joy that we are ‘Together Stronger’.

Over the weekend, we are hoping to bring together a number of churches and community groups from across Wales, and even further afield, to participate in sport and singing, film-viewing and feasting, worship and whirling (well…a twmpath!) and we’d love your church or community group to be involved in any or all of the following:

Saturday 11th March

12 – 3pm: 5-a-side Football Tournament – Pontypridd RFC, Sardis Road

Acknowledging that sport can bring diverse groups of people together and that football is a language which can transcend barriers, we’re hosting a 5-a-side football tournament with prizes and special guests. Do you know a group of 5 players aged 16 or over of any gender and ability who might like to take part? This will be a great opportunity for different groups representing the rich diversity of cultures in Wales to meet and play with one another. Free to participate and travels costs can be provided if needed.

4 – 7pm: Sharing of Food and Culture – St David’s Uniting Church, Pontypridd

Over some hearty Welsh fayre, we’ll be showcasing some of the gifts from the many cultures of Wales. Could your church or community group offer a 10 minute presentation – whether through art or music, dance or drama, fashion or something completely different – to share something of the cultural treasures of the people of Wales today?

7pm – Late! Twmpath – Muni Arts Centre Pontypridd

Get your dancing shoes on as we prepare to show off some

of our best – and worst – dance moves at this fun folk dancing event. Tickets: £4

Sunday 12th March

10:45am: Inter Cultural Cymanfa Ganu – St David’s Uniting Church, Pontypridd

Our morning service this weekend will take the form of a morning of praise as we host a classic Cymanfa Ganu which will celebrate the rich heritage of Welsh music alongside a few hymns that reflect the Inter Cultural theme of the weekend. Why not come and add your voice to our harmonies and praise!

4pm: Family Film Screening – St David’s Uniting Church, Pontypridd

Bring your loved ones and your cinema snacks to our free

screening of a fabulous family film which reminds

us that we really are ‘Together. Stronger’.

Certificate: PG. English language with Arabic subtitles.

Come and join the celebrations as we thank God for making us one extravagantly loved people – diverse in culture and together, stronger.
